Our inspiration: a lifelong dedication
For over 30 years, I've had the privilege of helping to raise 11 remarkable individuals, each facing their own unique challenges and disabilities. My primary goal was always to bring families together, and I often adopted those who needed me most. Witnessing many of them age out of foster care or face family hardships, I saw a profound gap: a lack of sufficient support and programs. This deep personal experience ignited the vision for Missinglinks88 – to create a place where no young disabled adult faces homelessness or a lack of assistance.
Our unique approach: a holistic community
What sets Missinglinks88 apart is our commitment to building a true community. We're not just providing housing; we're creating an ecosystem of services and support for disabled individuals of all ages, and crucially, for their parents and guardians. With 30 years of hands-on experience, I bring a wealth of knowledge, from navigating school IEPs and 504 plans to understanding the intricacies of daily support. We're continually learning and adapting to ensure our residents and their families receive the most effective and compassionate care possible.
Making a difference: safety, stability, and joy
The biggest difference we hope to make is providing a safe and stable environment where young disabled adults can thrive. By building a community composed of their peers, we create a secure space for them to connect, play with animals, enjoy movies, participate in games, and learn cooking skills. We also offer dedicated parent groups, fostering a network of support for families. Our vision is a place where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to live a full and happy life.
